Point Ridge is a secure gated residential complex comprised with shared common areas including heated outdoor swimming pools. With architecture inspired by Italy’s old hillside towns and the use of solid brick construction.

Canam carried out the bulk earthworks to commence this project in 2015. This involved breaking earth on terrain typical of Albany, consisting mainly of clay, bedrock and natural springs. Approximately 2100m3 of earth was removed to prepare for the foundations of 47 townhouse apartments.

Included in the works was the instalment of power and water services for each apartment and pool; including public line instalment. Each apartment has exclusive access to their own retention water tank which harnesses waste water from dishwashers and laundry for reuse in the garden via an independent water pump system.

Whilst works were being carried out, residents of the existing apartments were undisturbed with minimal disruptions during the process.
Solid Sto exterior plaster was specified for this project for its durability in an area where high winds and rough weather are common.

Canam managed this project under four seperate stages to allow for continuity and time efficiency. Canam moved quickly to get underway with the first stage of the earthworks which enabled stage 1 of the apartment build to take place. By the time stage 2 earthworks were complete, residents had already purchased stage 1 apartments. The methodology for this project worked well for all involved.
