Canam Interiors created a bar and restaurant from an open shell facility on the Ground Floor of the Nautilus Building in Orewa, Auckland.
This project encountered a number of obstacles due to the design being changed at various times throughout the project which resulted in a larger number of variations to the contract. The drainage needed to be completely reorganized as the main tenancy feed was not in the position shown on the as built plan. This required changing close to 20% of the floor to install new drainage runs. All the above obstacles increased our scope of works although the restaurant had a fixed opening date which still had to be met.
Canam Interiors created a new outdoor smoking area within the front of the building. This had large bi fold doors to allow easy access back to the bar. There were a large number of joinery fittings which utilised dark timber that complimented the gib ceilings and polished concrete floors and provided a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The Client was very happy with the end result and the project was completed under budget.
