This project involved the refurbishment and refit of the existing Angiography theatre at Mercy Hospital in Epsom. These works tied in with the hospital who was installing a new scanner machine at the completion of our contract. The works were carried out in a live hospital environment so minimizing noise and dust was vital.

The Operating Theatre was closed during the fitout works which were carried out over the Christmas break and the room was sealed to stop any dust escaping into the main corridor. New structural steelwork has to be installed to support the new pendant lights as well as support work beneath the floor for the new machine. This all had to be loaded in through an exterior window on the second floor which was also alongside the hospitals main driveway for truck deliveries. Careful co-ordination for delivery of plant and materials was essential to minimise disruption to the operation of the hospital.

A large portion of the contract involved running all new services for the new scanner. This included mechanical, medical, gases, electrical, nurse call and data. This was a risky project involving highly technical work all within a tight programme. This project was completed on time and the client was very happy with the end result.
