Kings School Aquadome

The Kings School Pool was a redevelopment of an existing exterior swimming pool.

The pool was converted from an exterior unheated pool to an interior fully tiled, heated interior pool complex. This was completed with separate changing facilities for staff and children, a gym and all of its associated equipment and air-conditioning for the pool area.

The pool was enclosed in a structure using glue laminated timber beams and equabond panelling. The equabond panelling provided the required weathering and thermal proprieties and with the use of the curved internal ceiling dissipated sound. The Pool Complex (Aquadome) was constructed using the architectural themes of the school, ensuring consistency of design and appearance.
