Housing New Zealand based their new migrant services division at the Three Kings Plaza in Mt Albert. This fast track, negotiated fit-out comprised of the complete strip-out of three existing retail tenancies over the Christmas period which were then merged to form the new Auckland Regional Migrant Services (ARMS).

Over the ensuing 7 weeks, the draft drawings underwent numerous changes as construction took place in the form of a new exterior shop front with new entry doors, the formation of 10 office spaces, a call centre and 2 training room facilities. The new mechanical ventilation system proved to be a challenge due to budget constraints, but was quickly overcome with smart “design & build” concepts offered through Canam’s selected subcontractor.

The project team received numerous compliments from the surrounding tenants for their concerted and proactive manner in minimising noise and disruption. The job was completed well within the programme duration and budget, much to the delight of the client and consulting team.
